Financial support
UPRAISE is committed to ensuring equitable access to digital education and to increasing student participation from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds, with a particular focus on women, minorities, students with disabilities, economically disadvantaged individuals, and talented students from non-EU countries.
To remove financial and social barriers, the project provides targeted financial aid, including scholarships, fee waivers, and mobility grants, awarded through transparent, inclusive, and merit-based selection procedures. Scholarships may cover tuition fees and living expenses and represent up to 8% of the total project budget, within the broader allocation of student financial aid by consortium higher education institutions. Industry partners may also contribute through co-financing of scholarships.
In line with the project’s objective to reduce digital skills gaps across Europe, UPRAISE prioritizes students from countries with lower levels of digital integration, while ensuring balanced geographical representation.
The project also promotes gender equality, aiming for at least 40% female participation, and actively welcomes applicants from all minority groups.
Mobility, Practical Experience, and Learning Opportunities
Financial support complements a wide range of mobility and practical learning opportunities, including:
Study and mobility periods across consortium institutions.
Internships and short-term placements within academia, industry, and research organizations.
Participation in summer schools, hackathons, and innovation challenges.
These opportunities are supported through existing and new mobility schemes, such as Erasmus+, KA171, double-degree programs, and University Alliances partnerships.
Logistical and Student Support Services
Beyond financial aid, UPRAISE offers comprehensive logistical and administrative support to further reduce participation barriers. Dedicated student support offices at each partner institution assist with:
Accommodation and transportation.
Visa and immigration procedures.
Access to local services, including counselling and academic support.
Personalized Mentorship
Students benefit from a personalized learning and career support approach, including skills assessments and tailored study pathways.
Dedicated mentors — supported by an AI-empowered platform — provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the learning journey, with particular attention to students from underrepresented backgrounds.
By combining financial assistance, mobility opportunities, logistical support, and personalized mentoring, UPRAISE ensures that all qualified students can fully access and benefit from its educational opportunities, regardless of socioeconomic background or nationality.
